Often, we saw large groups of patrons who came as a family to the bookmobile. There is nothing we like to see more than a family of readers!

Our loyal Garner patrons arrived each week on an ATV. As we crossed the railroad tracks, we could always count on this ATV to be sitting at the park. A loyal grandad brought his grands every week, except for the week they were at church camp. We are thankful for community and family members who transport our readers to choose new books each week!
Mr. Kenny and Dr. Calvert were treated to a yummy surprise at McRae City Park. Two of our loyal patrons, and their loyal driver, delivered homemade brownies and a handwritten note to the bookmobile.
Some scenes from Week 2 on the Bookmobile! Mr. Kenny shows off a variety of our popular book choices. THANKS to Ms. Donna, at Floyd UMC, for advertising for us on the outside sign. We've also found some new friends at our new stop, Beebe First Baptist Church. Welcome to ALL patrons!
Making their teacher happy...Noah and Jaden, from Ms. Moore's 3rd Grade Class, visited the bookmobile this week! Each chose books for summer reading and Dr. Calvert took photos to share with Ms. Moore!
Welcome to our new bookmobile driver, Mr. Kenny Carson. We are so excited about our new route and our new driver! Mr. Carson has a pair of pet goats that will join us on the bookmobile this summer. Stay tuned...
A new feature for the bookmobile this summer is the addition of a reminder service...this service will send you daily text reminders about where the bookmobile can be found. Also, if we have a rain daily or other announcement, remind will send the update to your phone. Please sign up to receive messages:
http://rmd.me/b?rid=28169744 We were grateful to have Literacy Leader (and Math Coach) Ms. Katrina Mills on the bookmobile this afternoon! She had some outstanding BUBBLE experiments for our patrons. Everyone had a great time...it was so interesting to see all of the different ways to make bubbles AND to see all of the different ways to make bubble wands. No matter what shape the wand was, though, the bubble was still a sphere...Ms. Mills' daughter, Avery, was on hand to explain why: Bubbles are round — spherical — because there is an attractive force called surface tension that pulls molecules of water into the tightest possible groupings. And the tightest possible grouping that any collection of particles can achieve is to pack together into a sphere. Check out this link to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHB9BJDSO0s After a rainy week last week AND the July 4 holiday...we're back! Ms. Annita had a nice crowd at Summer Literacy Camp on Monday. They read Scaredy Squirrel. All of these students have been bringing their books back to the bookmobile regularly and have UPGRADED to our canvas book bags. Congrats! We were also privileged to have Ms. Lilly Lay join us on the bookmobile today. She dressed for the occasion in her lovely dress, sunglasses and WHITE gloves. It is always a treat to have a princess on board. It was also exciting to meet a fellow Clifford (the Big Red Dog) fan today...she was excited to find two Christmas Clifford books. We look forward to seeing our patrons again and again and again this summer! Keep reading!!! |
