THANK YOU to Ms. Shelly Owens for being our substitute teacher on the bookmobile last week! She did an outstanding job. As a side note, Ms. Owens class has read 1,083 summer reading minutes! She loves literacy AND she inspires her students to love literacy, as well. Thank you and WAY TO GO, Ms. Owens!

Our Stoney Point Ambassador, Ben, did not disappoint. He was waiting under a shade tree when we arrived on the bookmobile. After he choose his books and received his delicious, nutritious school lunch...he recruited MORE patrons. Way to go, Ben!
Wal-Mart Wednesdays! Meet us in the Wal-Mart Parking Lot every Wednesday afternoon at around 1:15. Shopping on the bookmobile is always FREE!!!
We love celebrating TUESDAY with our Floyd Friends! They welcome us with their church sign and their sweet smiles! We have one VERY enthusiastic reader who loves DINOSAURS...we were able to fix him right up with dinosaur books! We are looking forward to everyone bringing a friend next week. We'll see you then!
These are the first friends to join us at Lunnie Park this summer! The school lunch ladies have a delicious lunch for them and we have delicious BOOKS to feed their mind!!! Come on out and join us at Lunnie Park each Mon.-Thurs. at 11:45.
We are so excited to have Ms. Peggy back with us on the bookmobile this summer as our driver and helper extraordinaire! We are also proud to welcome Madison Finley!
Summer Literacy Camps started Monday, June 5. Students at each of our four first stops were extended a special invitation to attend Summer Literacy Camp. We meet from 10-11:30 and enjoy a book, which each student gets to take home to keep, fun literacy activities, a a nutritious school lunch and book shopping at the Badger Bookmobile. We are off to a great start! Kudos to these Beebe Readers (and their families) for making sure their skills don't slip during summer vacation!
In May, all students in grades K-4 were invited to tour the Badger Bookmobile with their classroom teacher. We appreciated the gracious welcome we received at Beebe Early Childhood! It was exciting to see the students get so excited as they entered the bookmobile, especially those who had never before been on board. We are looking forward to seeing these students this summer!
SHOUT OUT to Melissa Looney and to Samantha Sebourn (and her husband, Mitch) for volunteering to canvass neighborhoods to hang bookmobile door hangers! The door hangers were distributed in or near neighborhoods where the bookmobile will run summer routes. The complete schedule was posted on the back side of the door hanger. THANK YOU Ms. Looney and Ms. Sebourn for being literacy leaders in our school district. ALSO, thank you to Ms. LuLynn Richards for distributing bookmobile schedule flyers to businesses around town...THANKS for helping us get the word out to all of our patrons! We are so grateful to our friends and fellow educators in Delta Kappa Gamma. A grant, provided by Kappa State, afforded funds to purchase a ChromeBook, which we use on the bookmobile to track our usage statistics. This tool is useful as we chart patrons at each stop, book check out/in and the grade level of our patrons. The data we collect helps us to make future decisions about bookmobile routes and activities. Additionally, the members of DKG collected gently used books, throughout the school year, to re-stock the bookmobile. We are so thankful for collaborative community partnerships! THANKS members of DKG, Beta Beta Chapter...YOU are difference makers!
