Mia is one of our frequent bookmobile patrons. She drew this book cover and presented it to us to keep on the bookmobile. We have it on our bulletin board. THANK YOU, Mia, for sharing your fantastic work with us.

We have had the awesome privilege, lately, of having guests join us for bookmobile stops. Our goal is to keep student minds thinking and asking questions...so that brains keep firing and do not take a mental nap all summer. We have provided opportunities for Reader's Theater, we have enjoyed books being read aloud and we have enjoyed drawing with Ms. Dianna. We enjoyed jewelry making with Ms. Meredith Howard, and much, much more. If you have not had the chance to join us on the bookmobile this summer...come, check us out! Also, Mrs. Tarkington and Mrs. Shannon were enlisted to assist on June 13, when Mrs. Calvert and Mrs. Finley were unavailable. THANKS for filling in for us!!!
As a reminder...we have books for ALL ages on the bookmobile. We have board books for babies, picture books for everyone, non-fiction books, series books, books for middle and high school students...we even have books for adults (both fiction AND non-fiction). Coming soon...GAMES available for check out! We intend to STOP the summer reading slump in its tracks! THANKS to our Beebe community families for bringing your students to the bookmobile! We were so happy to have Ms. Dillin, Principal of Beebe Middle School, join us on the bookmobile on Monday, June 6. She read to the students and offered them "airhead" candy with the advice, "Don't be an airhead, READ!" THANK YOU, Ms. Dillin, for your investment in the literacy lives of our Beebe students!
We visited Camp Beebe today for the first time! The students...over 100 of them...were happy to see us coming. We peeked in one of the rooms after the students chose their books and saw happy readers (see below). One reader entered the bookmobile and gasped, "WOW, I thought it would be all dark and hot inside!"
Day One: We visited three sites today; Glenlee, Lunnie Park and Antioch Community Church. Brandy Dillin, Principal of Beebe Middle School, joined us at Glenlee and Lunnie Park. She read a story to our bookmobile patrons. Linda Jenkins (Retired Science Instructor, Beebe Public Schools) led science experiments, at Antioch Community Church, based on Carbon Dioxide
On April 25, the family of Codi Rice, made a generous memorial gift to the Beebe Badger Bookmobile. Rice was an employee in the Beebe After-School Program. Her family selected books about topics that were special to Codi. It is the sincere hope of her family that students, such as those Codi taught in the After-School Program, will benefit from their memorial gift. Codi’s family is shown holding a small sampling of the donated books. In each book, there is a memorial label with Codi’s picture and the following quote, selected by her family, “In honor of her love of children and her desire to work in education.” From left to right: Todd Venable (Codi's dad), John Hunt (Codi's pawpaw), Nancy Hunt (Codi’s grandma), Frances Tierney (Codi’s aunt), Christi O'Cain (Codi’s cousin), & Melanie Venable (Codi's mother), Karen Zaremb (Codi’s special friend)
